A Few Words
By Liping Zhang
In recent years, most of my works were completed in outdoor activities. It’s a usual practice for painters to paint outdoor in the flourishing period of impressionism, even a routine norm in their life for some of them. The activity has been handed down to nowadays and developed into a phenomenon in China. From my point of view, paint in front of the nature, object or landscape is far more affable than paint to a picture. In that case, there might be outstanding performance in the course of creation. The ever-changing relations of the nature, object and landscape frequently make me exciting and bring me more profound sentiment. That’s why I prefer to paint in those environments. The paint from life is actually a process to feel your experience, mind and illimitable painting. One or two years ago, I held two exhibitions on the theme of “Travel and Freehand Brushwork” respectively in Taipei and my hometown Chifeng City. My friends persuaded me to go on the subject. Fortunately, later I find more new ideas but still walk on the old path while I get absolutely clear about my strength and weakness in painting. Given that the pen and brush are always there for me to paint new paintings and repair old works, I make progress and retrogress sometimes. There is much more objects that I want to see and paint and painting is a unique method to answer to the popular topics of today.
